SUMMARY:Zumbathon
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, June 4th\, six local Zumba instructors will be hosting a Zumbathon charity event – “Rockin’ for Reptiles” in the Buffalo Zoo’s CRC from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. \nThis year’s Zumbathon proceeds are earmarked to benefit the Zoo’s Amphibian and Reptile Campaign (A.R.C.).  Funds will be used to help update the Zoo’s historic Reptile House. \nTickets for the Zumbathon® cost $20.  Activities include a basket raffle\, 50/50 split\, healthy refreshments\, animal-themed and ZUMBA shopping\, and\, of course\, two hours of Zumba® fitness dancing with six licensed instructors. No experience is needed to attend.   All participants must sign a participation waiver.  Ticket includes Zoo admission. \nOur generous participating Zumba® instructors are Janis Graham Figueroa\, Julie Francis\, Mary Gibbons\, Karen Mahoney\, Lisa Manchester\, and Susan Natali. \nFor more information or to purchase tickets or “Rockin’ for Reptiles” tee shirts\, please call event co-coordinator\, Terrie Kelly\, at (716) 903-1749 or email terrie.kelly@nullverizon.net. \nIt’ll be a wild workout we hope to see you there!

This event features environmental groups setting up displays designed to inform children and families about appreciating and taking care of our Earth. Each child will receive an “Environmental Scavenger Hunt” sheet free with admission to the Zoo. The day also features Mama Earth’s Kitchen Band where children are encouraged to help make music on recycled and world instruments.  Mama Earth believes the Earth is our Kitchen ..we must take care of it and keep it clean so all creatures can have a healthy life!
