DESCRIPTION:What’s better than watching a historic moment at one of Buffalo’s most historic places? Join us at the Buffalo Zoo as we gather to watch the Total Solar Eclipse on Monday\, April 8\, 2024 \n\n\nOur Zoo offers a wide\, open space\, perfect for observing the sky without obstructions. Watch the sky’s transformation surrounded by the sounds and sights of our diverse animal kingdom. How will the animals react? Will the birds quiet down? Will the nocturnal animals stir? It’s a rare opportunity to observe animal behavior during such a unique natural event. \n\n\nAny guests that visit the Zoo April 8 will receive a free pair of eclipse glasses upon entry. Please note this is first come first service. Enjoy animal ambassador meet and greets with some of our most famous residents and join us for a presentation on Animal Behaviors During an Eclipse. Have the chance to create your own Solar Eclipse viewing box with our Education Team and learn about the safety steps to take during an Eclipse. (No preregistration is necessary; first come first serve. Activity available 10am-Noon on April 8\, 2024). \n\n\nWhile we celebrate this Solar Eclipse\, don’t forget to say hello to Buffalo’s most popular polar bear\, Luna-who was born during a Lunar Eclipse! \n\n\nSo\, join us at the Buffalo Zoo on April 8\, 2024\, for this once-in-a-lifetime experience as we witness the total solar eclipse together.

Join us for Party for the Planet on Saturday\, April 20\, from 10:00 am–2:00 pm as we honor Earth Day and wildlife conservation. This annual celebration features keeper talks\, animal ambassador meet and greets\, and educational opportunities throughout the day. Many conservation organizations local to our Western New York Community will be in attendance to discuss how we can protect our beautiful planet and all who live on it. This is a value-added event; all activities are included with admission to the Buffalo Zoo.
