Distribution and Habitat

Geographic Range

Sun conures can be found throughout South America, but are primarily seen North of the Amazon River in Brazil.

Natural Habitat

Usually found in scrublands near the banks of the Amazon River, Sun conures can generally be located near any heavily vegetated area.

Physical Characteristics

  • Growing approximately 30 cm in length, Sun conures are bright yellow with red markings on the sides of their head with a red-orange tinge stretching across their forehead.
