Join us in creating a bright future for wildlife.

THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS TO MAKE AN IMPACT ON OUR CONSERVATION WORK.

As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Buffalo Zoo is dedicated to securing a future where wildlife thrives. Make a donation today and you’ll support our efforts to save vulnerable species through special breeding programs and conservation initiatives.

Capital Support

YOU CAN HELP BUILD THE FUTURE

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, our government partners, local foundations, and area businesses, the Buffalo Zoo has been making an incredible transition. Improved naturalistic exhibits for our animals and convenient, comfortable visitor amenities are now a standard part of the Buffalo Zoo experience. Our completed projects include:

What's Next

The Buffalo Zoo’s current project is a comprehensive renovation of its historic Reptile House. Originally designed by renowned zoologist Marlin Perkins, it was considered the finest Reptile House in the country when it opened on June 21, 1942.

All of the animal enclosures will be replaced with new state-of-the-art exhibits. Joining the amphibian and reptile collection will be Komodo dragons, the largest lizard in the world. The Zoo’s ongoing work breeding endangered amphibians and reptiles will also be showcased.

Adopt An Animal

BECOME A ZOO PARENT

The Buffalo Zoo invites you to become part of our family through the Adopt an Animal program. Your donation will support the exceptional care and individualized nutrition that every animal receives. Our keepers dedicate their lives to the health and well-being of every resident animal.

Select your favorite animal from our adoption list, or gift an adoption to a family member or friend. While your animal will stay at the Zoo under the expert care of our keepers, we’ll send out a package with interesting information about your special animal.
