Photo Contest 2008
 The 2008 photo contest is underway. Do you have some of your favorite Zoo animals caught on film? Now is your chance to share your photos and maybe have them displayed. Categories include Solo Photo, Student, Zoo Babies and Zoo Humor. The entrance fee is $5 and there will be prizes for each category. Deadline is December 31, 2008. “Queen for a Day” Mother’s Day Brunch
 Treat your mom as Queen For a Day by bringing her to our Mother’s Day Brunch, catered by the Akron House! There will be one seating at 11:00 a.m., and pre-paid, non-refundable tickets are required due to limited seating. Tickets include Zoo admission, crafts and a gift for each of the mothers. The prices for non-Zoo members are $20 for adults and $15 for children, ages 2-14. Children under 24 months will be admitted for free. Members will receive a $3 discount per ticket. On Wednesday, July 30, 2008, the Pro Zoo Board and the Women’s Board will host the annual Wines in the Wild event at the Buffalo Zoo. For only $30 pre-sale or $40 at the door, your ticket includes a variety of food and dessert items, along with wines and beers from local distributors. Live music and visits from some of your favorite animal ambassadors will highlight the event. Enjoy a balmy summer evening in one of the most unique environments around as you try your luck at our fantastic basket and silent auctions. This event takes place from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., rain or shine. Guests MUST BE 21 years or older.
Last year’s event was sold out by mid-July, so be sure to order your tickets early. Gather your friends and neighbors to enjoy this wonderful, casual evening to benefit the Zoo’s Adopt an Animal program.
