NEW: Update From The Buffalo Zoo

Dear Friends of the Buffalo Zoo,

I hope this message finds you safe and healthy. I’m writing to share that despite these uncertain times good things are happening in our Buffalo Zoo Community. We continue to stay resilient and relish in what is most important — taking care of the animals and each other.

Our reopening date is undetermined as we continue to follow the guidance of federal, state and local government agencies. Be sure to check our website, buffalozoo.org for the latest on operating status.

All of the animals at the Zoo are safe, happy and healthy. Animal care and veterinary teams remain on-site and continue to maintain the exceptional care we provide every day of the year, while practicing social distancing and other strict cleaning and disinfecting methods to keep our specialized teams healthy.

Below are important updates we want you to know:

  • The Zoo is extending all new and existing memberships so that you can enjoy your full year of benefits. We love our Members and thank them for their loyal support. Did you know a Buffalo Zoo membership supports our daily operations like animal and veterinary care?

During this difficult time, please consider purchasing a membership as a way to support (and enjoy!) the Buffalo Zoo. For questions about membership or to become a Member, please visit buffalozoo.org or call our Membership Department at (716) 837-3900. Our teams are working remotely and are ready to answer your call.

  • We are bringing the Zoo to you! Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for scenes from the Zoo and special lessons from our Education team.

Now more than ever, our spirit and commitment will continue to be put to the test. On behalf of all of us at the Buffalo Zoo, we want to thank you for the kind outpouring of support that has kept us going as we navigate this rapidly evolving crisis. We have no doubt our Buffalo Zoo community will rebound stronger than ever and we can’t wait to welcome you back.

Warmly,

Norah Fletchall
President & CEO
