Arbor Day Fund

At the Buffalo Zoo, conservation of wildlife and horticulture will always be our top priority. Due to the Buffalo Blizzard of 2022, the Zoo lost over 35 trees throughout our grounds and many more plants, some that have been here for decades. This loss has severely impacted our horticulture budget for the remainder of 2023; due to removal and clean-up efforts, we no longer have the funds to replant trees and other plants that were destroyed back in December. As an institution that focuses not only on saving wildlife, but also creating a connection with our guests through the natural world, we continue to look for ways to help replenish some of those funds to allow our Horticulture and Grounds Team to continue their great work in taking care of our campus and gardens that provide natural sanctuaries for our guests during their visit. With our restricted Arbor Day Fund, we hope to raise enough money to replant the trees and other plants lost due to the blizzard, as well as provide our hardworking grounds team with the proper equipment needed to do so—and in some cases replace equipment that has been damaged and lost.
We are asking our community for their help this Earth Day and Arbor Day to make any financial gift you can to assist in our efforts to replant what was lost. Your contributions will go directly to our Horticulture and Grounds Team to assist in their efforts to continue to create a beautiful natural space for all to enjoy and to repair and replenish what has been lost.
