Scout Badge Program

Program Description

Do you belong to Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, or Boy Scouts? Then, join us for a Scout Badge program at the Zoo! Participants will enjoy an up-close live ambassador animal demonstration, a guided animal exhibit visit, and badge related activities.  Each badge is designed to cover all or most badge requirements.

 

Program Details

What:  Scout badge programs

Who:  Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts

Where:  At the Zoo

When:  Scheduled dates throughout the year

Time:  2 or 3.5 hour program

Cost:  $17/Scout for 2 hour programs, $25/Scout for 3.5 hour programs  (Non-member adults must also pay admission)

(Note: Program cost does not include patch.  Patches are available for purchase through your local scouting council or store.)

GIRL SCOUT PROGRAMS

Daisies: Clover, Rosie, Good Neighbor, Outdoor Art Maker, Lupe, Mari, and Tula

Brownies: Household Elf, Bugs, Pets, Senses, STEM Career Exploration, Outdoor Adventurer, and Inventor

Juniors:  Agent of Change Journey, Animal Habitats, Citizen Scientist Journey, Detective, STEM Career Exploration, Gardener, and Flowers

Cadettes:  Animal Helpers, Trees, and STEM Career Exploration

Seniors:  Social Innovator and Voice for the Animals

 

 

CUB SCOUT PROGRAMS

Lions:  Mountain Lion, Rumble in the Jungle, and Ready, Set, Grow

Tigers: Backyard Jungle, In the Wild

Wolves: Call of the Wild, Finding Your Way, and Paws on the Path

Bears:  Critter Care, Forensics, Fur, Feathers, and Ferns, and Nova WILD

Webelos:  Into the Wild, Into the Woods, and Nova WILD

 

 

BOY SCOUT PROGRAMS

Merit Badges: Animal Science, Bird Study, Insect Study, Mammal Study, Nature, and Reptile & Amphibian

 

 

VIRTUAL BADGE PROGRAMS

We also offer virtual versions of each of the badges listed above. Virtual badges can be set up for scouting groups all over the country and even internationally. Each virtual badge would include animal demonstrations from our ambassador animals, live camera views of our exhibits, and badge related activities. Virtual badges cost $12/scout for 1-hour programs and $15/scout for 1.5-hour programs. We require a minimum of 10 scouts for each virtual program.

 

 

CANCELLATION – $50 deposits are non-refundable unless the zoo has to cancel the program.

 

Note for in-person classes: All guests are required to have their temperature checked before they enter the Zoo. Any guest with a body temperature of 100.4 degrees or above will not be permitted to enter the Zoo. If you do not feel well, we ask that you do not visit. Please call 716-995-6127 to reschedule any classes you have reserved. During your visit, we require the use of face masks/coverings at all times for all guests ages 2 and up. In addition, all families will be asked to maintain social distancing throughout all programs.
